As you open the door of Henry’s Tailoring in Heritage Plaza, chances are, you’ll hear its owner and chief tailor Henry Nguyen having a laugh. His good humour is one of the tailoring shop's hallmarks. The second thing you'll notice about this little shop is the handsome handmade suits and beautiful Italian fabrics displayed upon its walls.
“I love to put smiles on people’s faces,” Henry says, followed by a reflective chuckle. “When I show them what I’ve made, I see their faces light up. It’s the best reward you can have.”
Over 30 years ago, Henry lived in Calgary where he casually learning the tailoring trade from European friends. But what started as a hobby soon turned into a passion for working with clothes. Working in the tailoring business since the late 1980s, he opened Henry’s Tailoring in the late 1990s, creating bespoke suits and offering a variety of tailoring services to a discerning clientele.
