When Kewal and Rita Krishan came to Canada, they recognized a need for East Indian fabrics and supplies in Calgary. A growing community required traditional fabrics and suits to celebrate their culture in their new home, so in 1979, Reena Fabric Saree Center Ltd. was born.
“My parents have always been in the fashion industry. Reena Fabric is a family-owned business,” says Rohit Krishan, Kewal and Rita's son. “I’ve always been interested in fashion, so when the time came, I decided to join the family business and sell fabrics, saris and suits to our community of East Indians and Canadians alike.”
With two stories of space devoted to traditional Indian fabrics, ReenaFabric also sells twin and queen-sized blankets with popular images and icons printed on them, luggage, bed spreads and sweaters.
