Safeway Beltline

I had purchased some groceries from the store and got food poisoning and when I brought the food in the assistant manager Jane allowed me to get some Tylenol. I asked for the food to be checked and to get information back about what was wrong with it and was totally ignored. It's pretty pathetic when a grocery store does not stand behind its customers or its product. I highly recommend staying away from this place.

Be warned, the place is open till 11pm but the deli and all the hot food gets packed up at 6pm. The place is jammed and there are line ups all day long. If you think you're beating the crowds shopping after 6pm be warned that most of the food you'll want to buy won't even be on the shelves. Last couple of times I tried to get groceries at 9pm everything I wanted was gone. Empty shelves. No ground beef, no fish I like, no peas, no frozen berries. Pathetic.

Great lunch spot!

Most people forget that Safeway has hot food and yummy salads for lunch. If you are ever in downtown and you find yourself hungry, just pop over to Safeway. They have chinese food, indian food and simple sandwiches and salads. Their food is always fresh and the staff is always really good!
