Dina Popadiuk has been grooming and working with dogs since 1973 when she first became a certified groomer. She's come a long way, but she's never lost her passion for making pups and their owners happy. Today she is the dedicated owner of Canine Connection and the president of the Canadian Professional Pet Stylists where she oversees grooming certifications.
As any dog owner knows, it's easy to make new friends when you're out on the town with your furry friend, and that’s exactly how Dina came into her role as a neighbourhood dog groomer. "I actually fell into it kind of backwards…I had a German Sheppard that needed obedience training, so I went to an obedience class and met a girl there who had another German Shepard," Dina explains. "Her parents happened to own Rosemary's Poodle Salon, and they wanted somebody to bathe and dry the dogs in the morning because they didn’t want to get up early!" Dina quickly grew to love the profession over that first summer and went on to pursue a certification in dog grooming in order to make it official.
