Husband and wife team, Fay and Lee Jensen bring the world of high-end European and American designer discount fashion to Vancouver's tony Marpole neighbourhood at their stylish Armadillo Boutique.
With a lengthy and esteemed background in the fashion industry, success was imminent. Lee began buying and selling clothing in 1966; he'd buy clearances from New York and Montreal and resell to Army & Navy and other target markets. As a menswear designer, he manufactured clothing for a lot of '60s bands, Kentish Steele & the Shantelles and Night Train Revue among others.
Fay started in the cosmetics business as a training director with the revolutionary Helena Rubinstein line. Her keen eye (she merchandises and colour blocks the fashions at Armadillo Boutique) and flair for identifying high-end apparel opened the door to a shift in her career.
