Catherine Cameron, owner of Dr. Catherine Cameron Acupuncture and Herb Clinic, was exposed to Chinese culture as a child, thanks to regular excursions to Vancouver's Chinatown with her family and a keen interest in Chinese medicine. "There I was, my little pork buns in hand, peering through the herb shop window and captivated by what I saw; they were so industrious, so serious, nothing random going on," recalls Catherine.
Without a Chinese lineage, Catherine's parents marvelled at their children's aptitude for Asian culture. "My two brothers had a real interest in Asian philosophy, two of us studied martial arts (my oldest brother was extremely adept at it), and before long, all of us spoke a little Mandarin," says Catherine.
