With its delectable hand-crafted baked goodies and welcoming atmosphere, Flour Bakeshop is a popular stop in the Horseshoe Bay area. This cozy bakery brightens up the wait for the ferry to nearby islands and keeps locals well supplied with cakes, breads and coffee. When Christine Montgomery opened the bakery with mom Debby Prince, she fulfilled a dream she had for years. "I always knew I'd open a bakery one day. I baked in a restaurant when I was younger, then went to school to learn the trade."
Apricot ginger scones, raspberry cranberry oat muffins and peppermint brownies are just some of the delicious fare on offer in this bright, cheerful and chic bakery. A variety of fair trade coffees – available for retail and take away – are great for a chilly day. And a scrumptious array of breads taste as heavenly as they smell.
“Nobody ever comes into a bakery mad,” says Christine. “I love being part of making people happy!”
