Old doesn’t necessarily mean valuable, especially when it comes to antiques, according to Ron Elbers.
An antique dealer and master craftsman since 1985, the owner of Elbers Furniture and Refinishing in Riverside is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to your vintage furniture: who made it, how rare it is, the material it’s made from and, most importantly, how to restore its glory. “Most of the people who have the knowledge are all long gone,” he says.
The front half of Ron’s Queen Street shop is a haven for eclectic art deco and custom painted wood furnishings, as well as other home decor accessories from the past. “We're giving tired treasures a new look and a new purpose,” says Ron. "You don't need to use a dresser in the bedroom."
