M.T. Bell!es has been a family favourite for 20+ years. What makes them great is their fun atmosphere and down to earth staff who always make you feel welcome. After placing our order, our drinks arrived WITHOUT straws. This small but significant earth-friendly move makes me love them even more. Forgoing plastic straws is HUGE! I will make a point of spreading this great news and hopefully more restaurants in the area will be fearless and follow suit! Now all you need is an EV charger!
The food was terrible. My husband got the fish and chips and it was the worst he’s ever had. We waited over an hour for our food, thankfully the manager was nice as well as the staff but the kitchen could use some training.
Sept 25/2014 tTook Dad for B day supper, restaurant busy, had 2- 8 oz sirloin dinners, and mom fish, all food was excellent, staff busy but very well organized, been going there for 20 yrs +, I recommend it highly,
Walked in waited to be seated wasn't bad but the waiter had to go check for an open table for 5 as I notice the table board was only written with the waiters names of the areas where the waiters take of but they did not have any of the tables check where everyone was seated to know where the open tables are when we were seated at are table there was nothing setup there were no utensils layed out wrapped up in napkins and after we got are food and with is what we ordered 1 blooming onion 2 fries and 30 wings the fries were good and the wings were ok but the onion was horrible the batter was thin and the coating of the onion was bad due to thin batter and at the bottom of the onion was uncooked I've eaten here before same garbage as before I'm never going to eat at this place ever again
My husband and I have gone to M.T. Bellies a lot the past year since moving to Welland. We find the food good and the portion sizes large, most times you have to take some home! The service overall is great. There is one waiter there Tim he is execptional... Out of our many meals there only once were we not happy with a meal, sent it back the waitress as well as the manager appologized and gave us a free dessert. They handled it very professionally. Great all around place with a big menu to please almost everyone.
My First visit was my last, over priced crappy food. I ordered the 16oz rib-eye it was more fat and grizzle then meat, It was not AAA grade. I had fries with my order they were very good but the onion rings were from frozen and the gravy was out of a can. My friend had chicken fingers and a caesar salad, the croutons were drenched in oil he could not eat them.
We walked in - a party of eight on a saturday night, having been in the industry for 8 years, I know a party walking in isn't the best way to start, but it happens. We explained that we were just grabbing snacks and drinks, and were promptly sat. Everything was going fine until the food arrived, and 2 of my 3 orders were cold. My Onion Soup had been cooked too early and the soup part was cold. My mozzerella sticks were still frozen. Brought this up to the waitress who dealt with it very well, and brought the food back to the kitchen. The manager eventually brought back the re-heated soup, which was now all crusty (the cheese), i didnt touch it, and she also explained that although the mozza sticks may have been frozen, i had ate most of them (well, thats the idea, you celebrate, you pass out food, i didn't personally take a bite out of each one, i gave them out, as we all did). Needless to say, my issues were not dealt with properly, and I called back the next day to speak to a day manager, who was unavailable and left my concerns and number, and was never called back. Perhaps its age, as I am only 23, but have been serving and managing at a restaurant for a long time. This is no way to deal with customers.
Been going to MT's for years. Always friendly service and the food is always good. Consistency is what this place is all about, I guess thats why they have been there for over 15 years. Going back next week because they know my usual. I love these guys. and gals.

I come to Bellies all the time, their food is amazing, I even make my husband get me takeout from there on his way home from work! The ribs are amazing, came right off the bone without a knife salad is awesome and so is all their food!
I live in welland, and go here or get take out alot from here. The food is always really good, and even with my allergies to milk, eggs, and nuts i am still allowed alot of food.
Clearly these people complaining about how the food and service are insane! The food is amazing and NOT over priced whats so ever. Also the positive attitudes the servers and managers bring at such a busy stressful time for them is fabulous. I defiantly love M.T. Bellies and I will be back many more times to come!
what a place. went in on St.Pattys day. Place was jammed with an Irsish band playing ditties. Managed to find a booth in the bar, ate dinner (yummy), stayed the night, had blast. Warm & fuzzy atmosphere. will go again and certainly for St. Pattys day.
This greasy spoon has been getting a free ride for years. Quit coasting on your past glory! This place''s popularity guarantees long waits and cold food. 50 min. to be seated, 1 1/2 hours to finish meal! Come on! this place is not a top rated restaurant with a 5 star rating. Servers are friendly but it does not mask the fact that the food is just packaged stuff microwaved by a 16 year old.
I grew up in Welland and met some old friends who still live there and it was the only place I still recognized so we decided to go. After being told there would be a 25 minute wait but ended up standing in the cold doorway for 45 minutes I already had bad feelings. When we were seated the server was pleasant and friendly but obviously had far too many tables and seemed stressed. The appetizers took nearly 30 minutes to arrive and when they did they were soaked in grease and overcooked. Our entrees took another 30 minutes after this and everything was bland and looked like an improvement to cafeteria food. I have my steak medium rare and it came out clearly well done. I told the server and she gladly ordered another one but this took around 15-20 minutes again and everyone else that I was with were done their meals. The manager came to the table and apologized for the steak and I told her of the appetizers as well and she seemed to ignore me and continue on talking about herself which none of us cared about but didn't want to be rude and get up and leave. The server tried to butt in and ask if we wanted anything else and give us our bill and the manager STILL was talking. After nearly 2 hours in this chaotic place I will be sure never to return. It might be good for families but I would never want to return with friends - it seems overpriced for the quality of the food and it is not a comfortable enjoyable environment.
We have been to this restaurant before. Perhaps it was because it was Saturday and they were overwhelmed and can't handle crowds. One of our party had to get up and find the manager to get service. We had already been there for 1/2 hour waiting for service at the table. I had the chicken sandwich with salad. Prbably the worst I've ever had. The bun was stale, the chicken was so overcooked I had a hard time cutting it. My husband had corned beef on rye but it wasn't rye -n they served it on a marble bread that was too stale to eat. The meat had been overheated and was hard. Certainly would never go there again on a Saturday as they can't handle the crowd.
Overall, the food was really good. The service was also good and they were friendly. Also, it is a nice atmosphere inside the whole restaurant. The only problem with this restaurant is it is fairly pricey.
Nice atmosphere with good tunes. friendly sincere service. good selection of draft, love the rickards white and creemore. ate in bar area, food was hot & tasty, good burg, love the fries. going back.
It's great to choose whether to sit on the restaurant side or the bar side. We sit on the bar side for get togethers with friends, and we sit on the restaurant side for more family meals.
