When we think of technology, most of us imagine the latest mobile device or how quickly we can download a movie onto our laptop. But the advances in digitalization are a driving force behind most sectors and are fine-tuning products and services across the board, including optometry.
“We are really blessed to be living in this day and age. Technology for glasses and contact lenses has really developed,” Whitby Optical Inc. owner Iftekhar Ali says. “There is so much more choice compared to even just five years ago.”
The former medical doctor has seen huge moves forward in both the nuts and bolts of eye testing accuracy and the style of eyeglass frames since he took over the three-decade-old family business in 2009.
Iftekhar says it is essential to keep up to speed with new processes and trends in order to best serve customers. Fortunately, he loves technology!
