I love the food there I’ve been five times in the last two weeks and spend more than ten dollars every time. My daughter comes down from Saskatoon we go there. So today the 23rd of January 2019 ( We Don’t Make Those there not on the menu. The manager. I explained I had already had one this week and two last week but she was adamant that it’s not on the menu so you can’t sub a piece of bread 4 a wrap????? Really. If the wrap is a penny more charge an extra dollar Poor business model lost custom
Do not go in there with a different coffee sellers mug! If so, be assured you'll be vocally harassed! We were planning on taking our meal to go and last minute changed our mind and decided to eat in. While we were enjoying our dish, no one was in restaurant, the same employee felt it was her right to reprimand us about advertising in her establishment without even hearing a response from us. All interactions, right from when we ordered were full of negative toned responses and assumptions! Rude!
A few years back, I took my 7 year old (at the time) niece there for a piece of cake. It was our special "date" night. We arrived an hour and a half before closing time. We ordered a piece of cake to share, a hot chocolate, and a tea. After waiting for quite some time, the owner came out and told us we had to leave, as they decided to close early, since we were the only ones there. She didn't even offer to give us our cake in a take away, or else wait 20 mins for us to finish it. I was so completely blown away by her rudeness, I didn't even say anything to her. But I haven't been back since, and I tell anyone who will listen about how awful the service was. She didn't seem to care that my niece was clearly upset.
We always have lunch here when we are in Regina. The food is excellent and has always been fresh. Excellent coffee. Prices are reasonable. The only problems is to plan to be there before the lunch rush as the seating is limited.
This is one of my favourite places to eat in Regina. The food is extremely well-prepared and leaves me feeling healthy and energized. The menu is mainly vegetarian with abundant vegan options. The servings are generous and everything is fresh and tasty. In my opinion, the rice bowls are the best, and the veggie burger is quite good also. They make good lattes and the ginger cookies are incredible. I have never encountered bad service there, and the patio is lovely to sit on. The restaurant can get a bit crowded at times as it is quite popular.
Good location, nice patio, great food, good enough service.
I was basically thrown out by whom I believe to be the owner of the 13th Avenue Coffee House for reasons I do not fully understand. It left me feeling hurt, abused and thoroughly disrespected by a public establishment and therefore felt the need to warn others and share my experience. I wrote a letter to the owner seeking an explanation but have had no reply. The incident happened during a local Arts Festival, which must be the busiest times of the year but I feel it is still no excuse for the rudeness that I experienced. I waited for an extended period in the large line-up at this restaurant to place a take-out order. After I placed my order I waited patiently and was eventually told by the member of staff who served me that a mistake was made and I would have to wait another five minutes. I told the member of staff that I would wait by the kitchen door as the area by the counter was quite congested. I then waited by the kitchen door for an extended period. Meanwhile people who came in after me had already been served their food and some were almost completing their meal. At one point the owner came out of the kitchen and asked if he could help me as I was looking through the open door to see if my food was being packaged yet. I calmly explained that I had been waiting quite a while for my order and he asked if I understood how busy they had been that day. I told him that I understood but it still seemed like I was waiting an abnormally long period for my order. He then obviously lost his patience and told me that he would “get me my money and then asked me to leave.” He went to the cash register, got some money and then handed it to me saying, “Good luck” as I left his establishment. There was no apology or explanation. It was a slap in the face from a business I have been quite loyal to for the last four years. I understand that the restaurant is doing quite well and has expanded recently but this is still no excuse to treat customers so badly. Regina is still a small city and customer service is perhaps more important here than in larger cities. The world is a pretty small place as well. The owner should also take note that a couple of my friends have refused to visit the 13th Avenue Coffee House for the last few years as they have also felt disrespected and devalued by the staff. I have now joined them as I completely relate to their experience.
This is my favorite lunch spot in the city! The rice bowls (especially the sushi bowl) are tasty, filling, and healthy, with brown rice, fresh veggies, and flavourful sauces. I love them and crave them often. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options available, a nice coffee/tea menu, and a patio in the summertime. Great place for a quick, satisfying snack or lunch. Nice staff too.
