The Health Equity Plan will focus on improving care for three priority populations: older adults, individuals experiencing homelessness and Black communities, aligning with Ontario Health’s Black Health Plan.
As part of our commitment to Reconciliation to provide culturally inclusive care, Niagara Health’s Indigenous Health Services and Reconciliation team has opened a new Indigenous community room at the Marotta Family Hospital, with programming set to begin this month.
With upwards of 3,000 visits per month and growing, the Family Room has provided over 18,000 meals and snacks to caregivers, in addition to offering laundry services, emotional support, and respite for families with children in the hospital.
