Dr. Simone Sitar grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and received her Honors Bachelor of Science studying Life Sciences and Biology at McMaster University. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, with a Dean’s Honors List distinction. Dr. Sitar was the co-founder of the School of Optometry’s Contact Lens Club. She also traveled to Haiti as a member of an eye care team and gained valuable experience in providing primary optometric care to communities in need. While in school, Dr. Sitar worked alongside ophthalmologists at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where she provided comprehensive dilated eye exams and problem-specific care for patients with a wide range of ocular diseases. Dr. Sitar enjoys providing eye care for people of all ages ranging from young children to older adults. Her special interests include dry eye management and myopia control. Dr. Sitar is a proud member of the BC Doctors of Optometry Association and is passionate about providing the best possible eye care to the community. In her free time, Simone can be found on the ski slopes, mountain biking, or enjoying some back-country camping with her husband.
