Recordings is a vinyl-lovers dream. Retailing records, CDs, cassettes and rare memorabilia, there’s something for everyone in this Kerr Street shop. A fixture since the late 70s, Recordings is a neighbourhood go-to for music lovers.
Owner Keith Dawes has a passion for music. Keith purchased the store, originally called Records on Wheels, in 1980 and changed the name to Recordings in 1995. Keith makes it his priority to carry rare and lesser-known, influential musicians.
“I like to carry bands that I feel are important,” explains Keith. “We stock rare albums that most people wouldn’t know about. Part of what we do here is about education.”
