Ordered last night. Waited 90 min for take out. Chicken was raw.

Phoned in for takeout 2 1/2 hours before closing was told they weren’t accepting any more takeout tonight I asked to speak to the manager he answered the phone with what’s your problem,explaining myself again his answer was I don’t care, how unprofessional
Used to be a great place, Now it is not even close to an average restaurant. Slow service and no customer service,
Been there many times and the second last time found a long hair in. My chicken I complained and they still wanted me to pay for my fries after I waited 20 mins to tell them about my chicken I left and swore I would never go back but two months later I decided to try again and when I sat down and waited to order a waitress said to me ARE You sure you want to order the chicken you had a problem before and then she left well her and other staff talking and staring at us i was very embarrassed
Although I enjoy the food lately every time I’ve tried to go in with my family I’m told it’ll be at least 45 minutes to get food. Maybe the owner needs to make some changes happen since it’s been over 2 years that we’ve been told that they where opening a second location that hasn’t materialized.
Absolutely horrible customer service! Tried to place a simple order for pick up in 2 hours. Woman on phone sounded completely disinterested, and said she cant guarantee anything except that it would not be ready at a time requested- either would have to be made soon to sit out for an hour, or I'd have to wait an hour after pick up time. Had heard terrible things about the customer service at this place, but was ready to give it a chance. Believe what you read about The Penalty Box...
who doesn't love a chicken delight?
My husband took me there one night to dine, the food was delicious my husband had the smoked ribs to die for and I had the pulled pork, it was the best I ever had! The service was good considering how busy they were, but everyone that worked there were very pleasant. We enjoyed our experience and are looking forward to the next time we go there for dinner.
Awful experience. Over 30 mins past the time I was told I would receive my order for take out. Rude on the phone, rude in the restaurant. Long time customer and will not go back here again.
Good food, extremely slow service and the worst experience I've ever encountered personally, very rude! The person that waited on us was so rude that he was yelling and arguing with us about how long we waited for our order, telling us that they don't need or want customers like us just because we asked if it would be much longer since my grandson was crying and wanted to go home. I was in shock as this took place, never happened ever to me before like this. I ordered the food at 11:35am via telephone, they said it would be ready for pick up at 12:10. We didn't get our order until 12:40. The service/treatment was so bad it can't make up for the food quality.

Last night, my teenage son and I had the pleasure of eating at this fine establishment. As we entered the restaurant we were graciously accompanied by the hostess to a booth that had a perfect view of the football game on the television. The hostess told us that it would be at least 30 minutes before we received our food. I’m usually a very impatient person; nevertheless, I saw no problem with this considering the place was packed and the amount of take-out orders going out the door. I surmised this was concrete evidence to the testament of how good the food is at this restaurant. The waitress was very accommodating because I asked her numerous questions regarding the menu. She was pleasant, gregarious and very doting considering my son’s table manners would be on par to that of the Huns. Our food arrived approximately 25 minutes from the time we were seated. My son order the Penalty Box ribs and I ordered the pulled pork dinner. The portions for both meals were extensively large. Looking at my son’s rib dinner, I relished the thought of having leftover ribs for my lunch the next day. To my chagrin, my son ate the entire slab of ribs and the Caesar salad that he ordered. I was shocked that a twelve year boy could devour that much food. I asked him sardonically how his meal was and he replied, “Dad, the best ribs I ever had! Can we come back tomorrow”? The pull pork dinner was outstanding with a large portion of fries and coleslaw. Furthermore, my son ordered large milk while I had two glasses of wine. Our entire dining experience lasted approximately one hour. While the portions are generous, and the food outstanding, I was shocked to see that the total amount of my bill was under $40. This was very inexpensive and similar meals with less portions and poorer food quality at other establishments are double in price. In addition, I am told that the Penalty Box is generous to many charities, causes and schools-it’s nice to see successful businesses giving back to our community. My only question to the owner is why you haven’t franchised this restaurant. You have a gold mine establishment and we need another Penalty Box on the east side. Can’t wait to go back!
Ordered take out 3 chicken delights, and one chicken finger meal. Chicken fingers I think were made yesterday at lunch. nuff said about that. Chicken delight onions had to be removed because they smelled rotten ( how they missed that is beyond me) Fries tasted and looked like they were made yesterday. Greek salad was SWIMMING in water...no tomato, no olives, no feta, no pepperoncini...GARBAGE sums it up...We then proceeded to call the establishment and spoke to the owner...this man needs a lesson in business 101...he stated NOT ONE COMPLAINT in 20 yrs!!! guess he should read these reviews!! then he proceeded to say that I was 'just one' customer and he basically did not care if I returned or not...imagine that...with that being said....we wont be back...and you can bet at least 15 others that I know won't either...most of them get sick everytime they eat here. Dont waste your money...go elsewhere, owner is not worthy of any business
Went to Penalty Box Too, which is usually my favorite restaurant for ribs. This time the ribs were dry, burnt and very tough. I calmly called the waitress over to ask her to get another set of ribs. Instead the owner/manager/cook came out and was very stubborn and contrary. He was belittling me and telling me that there was nothing wrong with the ribs in front of everyone and raising his voice making a scene, making me feel two inches small. He offered me to order something else instead of replacing the ribs or leaving the restaurant and never coming back. I came for the ribs and nothing else. Where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him?
Ive been going here for 10years. We always get the Gyros + Chicken delight. Its always been delicious. They've been stingee on the fries over the past couple years but what are you gonna do... were going through a recession :( Take out is very popular... As far as takeout is concerned: I ALWAYS HAVE TO KNOW IM GOING TO BE HUNGRY AN HOUR IN ADVANCE..... seriously. I guess thats alright because the food is delicious but i hate having to wait 45mins-1hr for my meal. They should open up another location. They would definately fill seats,
I ordered out on Saturday, and I ordered a box burger. I won't recommend anyone order a burger from there. Mine was so dry, it literally had NO juice in it what-so-ever. I squeezed it, and nothing. It took 4 swallows to get each bite down. I would've called to have them make an another one, but when I called to place our order to begin with, it was an hour wait (which that I don't have a problem with... as long as wait is worth it.) My food was NOT WORTH IT. My husband's Chicken Delight and my son's Chicken dinner was good though. I'll only order from there again to have their chicken. I haven't had a problem with that yet! It's always been nice and juicy in my experience.
Heard about the hype so I decided to try it out. Ordered the Chicken Delight and the Fettucini. BOth were pathetic. Chicken was try. Fettucini tasted like buttered noodles, over cooked. GROSS. Everything is greasy and over cooked muck.
This place thrives on take out and there is no wonder why as the food is great. Dining in however leaves alot to be desired as the wait staff are slow and seem more interested in socializing than serving. The dining areas also seem a little to congested although this could be due to the place usually being packed.
