The Charles Dickens Pub

I moved to Woodstock almost a year ago and I had heard great things about this place but had not gone until this past Saturday. Let me tell you the food was amazing. When it arrived to the table it was hot, tasted fresh and very good portion size. This will be my go to place when I am looking for a great meal.

First time visit and loved the steak and Stilton pie! I would definitely go again, worth the drive to Woodstock. Staff was friendly, very helpful and loved the pub feel.

cold HEINI was outstanding, and boneless chicken wings was hot & sweet. Pavel love's absolutly ABSOLUT VODKA! now we know who's writting this review. GO SPURS!

passing through Woodstock on our way home, we decided to pay our 2nd visit the pub, wished we could have stayed longer as they made us feel so welcome. We will be back.

We go there very often, it is our favorite spot as a couple. We are having a small wedding in May and are having our dinner with our group there...does that tell you anything. Service is always great, food is awesome! I have seen the owner out mingling with the guests several times, with a smile on her face and a warm welcome to all she greets. Good place!

Stopped for a pint years ago on the way through town and have kept going back. Not everyone can pour a good pint. have alwas been treated well and the food is better than most pub food. We drive 1 1/4 hrs. each way.

This was our company Christmas Party. Food was amazing. Huge servings but did run out of some deserts. Waitress was good for taking food order and delivering food order but for drinks she only came around 2 times and we were there all night long. Finally had to start going to bar to get drinks and there were so many people around the bar it took forever.

We have been back to this restaurant a few times. We live in Stratford but it is definetaly worth the 30 minute drive. You know you can count on friendly service and consistantly good food. The clientele is very nice as well so it feels like a nice family pub.

The atmosphere impresses immediately upon entering - I felt I was in an upscale pub in England. From start to finish the staff were friendly, fun intent on providing great service. All of us agreed that the portions were generous and the food delicious. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

In spite of the last review re: poor service we decided to try the restaurant anyway. We were there in the late afternoon on a Monday so it was not extremely busy. We found the server to be very attentive and personable. The food was excellent. To be specific the potatoes and beans were piping hot (which is hard to find, and believe me my husband is fussy about his potatoes and beans (Belfast native)) and the onions were fried to perfection. The soup was hearty and tasty. My roast beef dip couldn't have been better. The kitchen personell know what they are doing. They have a children's menu and I wouldn't hesitate to take my ten-year old there during approprate hours. Go, you won't be disappointed.
