Had an excellent time tonight at the Kennedy Public House. From the attentive hostess, to our excellent server Andrew, I'm very delighted with our choice to eat here tonight. The food was delicious, our server Andrew was extremely attentive to our table, and the atmosphere is great. A small detail, but the chef's choice to add lime to the coleslaw accompanying my Kennedy burger was incredible - just enough bitter to counter the often rich taste that creamy coleslaws usually have. Made a reservation online, probably a good idea, heard it was a busy spot. We were late for our reservation but they honored it. And it was packed. I had the special, can't remember the type of beef but it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, and the poutine was also amazing. My girl had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries and she loved it. We also had the Pickle Fries (good) as a starter and two pints of beer, bill with tip was around $80. A welcome gem in the Junction. Staff are inviting, friendly and efficient. I tried the smoked beef hash at Saturday Brunch. Superbly smoked meat and crunchy potatoes under a perfectly poached egg in a cast iron skillet. Ginos special hot sauce was an added treat. Arrived late, cook had left but as we just left without food, the owner and his wife invited us back in and his chef wife made wonderful chicken Alfredo and done in seemingly minutes. The service was worth the trip alone and the delicious portions filled this 270 pound (123kg) hearty eater. The waiter, Ray, extremely nice and the owner introduced wife after we finished. I've been here a number of times and I'm never disappointed! Its a great place to bring friends to try something delicious and unique. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I was there on a recent Saturday evening at 5:30 and had to wonder, though, why the hostess felt compelled to inform me that my table was booked at 7:30. It felt rather rude and unwelcoming.
